Cube of Canvas
Six interlocking stretched canvas planes.
I was thinking how I can create a 3 dimensional work. Introspectively I discerned that the square is a format I have been working on for several years and also the canvas plane. I designed a stretched canvas cube and suspended it on its axis using thread and a pendulum weight. The cube was then rotated in a circular motion. Allusion can be found in the square (physical) and the circular rotation (spiritual).
This time the work reveals a strength attributable to the dyslexic gaze known as spatial reasoning. For example, the ability to rotate an image mentally and grasp an overall holistic vision in space.
There were many variables such as projecting water onto the cube or simply as a still, see examples in the links below:
